October Windstorm

Damage assessment and restoration efforts begin

Windy, rainy weather is causing power outages around Western Washington. A high wind warning remains in effect for locations in our Northern service area until 5 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26. Additionally, a wind advisory remains in effect in the East Puget Sound Lowlands until 6 p.m. this evening.

We’re currently experiencing power outages across our service area, with many outages concentrated in King County. Power outages are the result of the wind coupled with stressed trees that still have their leaves. In stiff and gusty winds, that means trees can topple more easily and damage power equipment, and branches can take flight and hit power lines.

Our Emergency Coordination Center and local storm bases are opening to coordinate restoration efforts, and our crews are ready to assess damage and make repairs as conditions are safe.

alert

Safety first. Never touch or go within 35 feet of downed power lines because they might be energized. Call PSE at 1-888-225-5773 or 911 to report problems.
